Honda/Acura valve guides are incredibly durable, and in most cases last well over 100k miles. However, when they do wear, we use a process to put new liners in them. Removing valve guides can cause damage to the head; galling or gouges where the sleeve fits into the head. In addition, if the head has been substantially ported, the material around the valve guide will have different thicknesses, and will often cause the new guide to go in at a slight angle. This wreaks all kinds of havoc, the worst if which is having to "deep seat" the valve in order to get a proper seat profile. This is due to the valve guide not being perfectly in line with the seat.

To eliminate this problem, and maintain perfect alignment, we first drill out part of the inner diameter of the OEM guides, then press in new inserts. This is the perfect solution to all of the issues listed above.
